Results of the competition for the best doctoral thesis at TUKE 2021
University Highlights
The Ministry of Education, Science, Research and Sport of the Slovak Republic has announced "Science and Technology Week in Slovakia 2021". Within this week a competition for the best doctoral thesis, where full-time doctoral students from individual TUKE faculties presented their theses in the form of an online presentation to the TUKE Commission for Science and Research, took place at the Technical University of Košice. The presentations were evaluated in terms of content (science), as well as in terms of the quality of the presentation. The Commission selected the following 4 best of the 13 theses presented online:
Scientifically, the following were evaluated as the best:
Ing. Dagmara Varcholová – FMMR
topic: Development and research of new metal hydride materials
supervisor: doc. Ing. Karel Saksl, DrSc.
Ing. Viera Maslej Krešňáková – FEI
topic: Methods of deep learning in analytical tasks and decision-making
supervisor: doc. Ing. Peter Butka, PhD.
From the point of view of the presentation, the following were evaluated as the best:
Ing. Pavol Jaroš – SvF
topic: Complex heat and water transfer in historical building structures
supervisor: doc. Ing. Marián Vertaľ, PhD.
Mgr. art. Samuel Velebný – FU
topic: Urban medium-digital intervention. Art at the interface of physical and virtual reality
supervisor: prof. MgA. Ing. Michal Murin, ArtD.
