On 29 June 2021, a special guest, Her Excellency Barbara Wolf – the Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Germany, accompanied by prof. Juraj Banský – the Honorary Consul of Germany in Košice, visited the Technical University of Košice.

Prof. Stanislav Kmeť, Rector of TUKE, acquainted the guest with the current state and the latest results achieved by our university and outlined the directions of further development in its key domains. Subsequently, prof. Hudák, the Vide-rector, informed the Ambassador about TUKE's long-term cooperation with partner universities in Germany, and about the activities of the international alliance of European universities Ulysseus, of which TUKE is a founding member. The Ambassador was interested in learning about the university's position on the forthcoming amendment to the Higher Education Act, exchange programmes for students, and support for foreign students in the form of study grants. The last part of the discussion was dedicated to related topics and possibilities of deepening relations between TUKE and German industrial partners operating in Slovakia.
