We hosted the first Ulysseus Summit
The Alliance of European universities Ulysseus, of which the Technical University of Košice is a member, prepared the first Ulysseus Summit between April 26 and 28 2022 attended by the representatives of the Alliance member universities, partners, and supporters, employees, and students of TUKE. The event was held at the premises of our University and was attended by more than 90 representatives from the six partner universities of the Alliance, including the personal participation of Rectors of the four partner universities of the Alliance and eleven other representatives of the management of these universities (vice-rectors and directors). More than 150 participants including partners, supporters, employees, and students of our University took part in the opening event in Aula Maxima.
The aim of the event was to present and evaluate the current state of mutual cooperation and interconnection of six European universities associated with the Ulysseus Alliance, which offers numerous opportunities for its members and their ecosystems and highly contributes to the formation of the European Higher Education Sector and the European Research Sector, as well as to the future of Europe. Researchers from the partner universities worked together to deepen mutual research and project cooperation. The activities of the Alliance's students were an important part of the Summit.
The Summit was attended by the rectors from the following universities: the Rector of TUKE (Stanislav Kmeť), the Rector of the Spanish University of Seville (Miguel Angel Castro), the President of the French University Côte d'Azur(Jeanick Brisswalter) and the Rector of the Austrian University MCI | Business School®️ (Andreas Altmann) and the representatives of the Italian University of Genoa (Cinzia Leone) and the Finnish University of Applied Sciences - The Haaga-Helia (Vice-Rector Salla Huttunen). A special programme was prepared for these guests, starting with the press conference attended by the Deputy Mayor of Košice, Mr. Marcel Giboda, and continuing with a round table discussion on accreditation of joint diplomas, sustainable financing, and common structures, and the legal status of the Alliance. The round table was attended by the vice-rectors and deans of TUKE.
