The Faculty of Arts at the Technical University of Košice is an inspiring educational institution that has been systematically developing higher education in the fields of fine arts, design, and architecture for more than twenty‑five years. Its establishment, initiated by prominent figures, reflects a strong vision and the need to create a space for high‑quality and progressive art education in the region. Since its founding, the Faculty has continuously supported artistic education and has actively contributed to cultural and artistic life in Košice and Eastern Slovakia. The fulfilment of its ambitions at the national and partly international level confirms the Faculty’s stable position within art education. The Faculty has set itself the goal of becoming one of the leaders in the development of the creative industries in the Eastern Slovak region in response to new societal challenges. The unique connection between art‑oriented education and the environment of the Technical University of Košice creates a natural platform for dialogue between art, science, and technology.

Today, the Faculty of Arts is an established and stable institution with a significant influence on shaping the cultural identity of the region. Its active participation in projects such as Košice – European Capital of Culture 2013 and the UNESCO Creative City of Media Arts confirms its international reach and professional reputation. Graduates and faculty members play a major role in gallery‑based and multidisciplinary projects that shape the artistic environment of the city and the wider region. In the context of increasing digitalisation, the Faculty places strong emphasis on interdisciplinary collaboration and the principles of Art & Science as a key direction for the further development of art education and research.
