Joint Meeting of Ulysseus European University with University of Münster

The first joint meeting of the Ulysseus European University with the University of Münster took place in Münster, Germany in 14 – 16 November 2022. The University of Münster is one of the two universities that will expand the Ulysseus European University.

The aim of the meeting was to present the Ulysseus and the opportunities it can offer to the University of Münster. The TUKE delegation was led by the Rector Stanislav Kmeť, with participation of the Vice-Rector for International Relations and Mobility Radovan Hudák, the WP3 coordinator of the Ulysseus project Peter Džupka and representatives of the Ulysseus Innovation Hub at TUKE – František Jakab and Viliam Fedák. The programme also included a visit to the REACH incubator, in which the University of Münster participates.

The University of Münster (WWU Münster), founded in 1780, is a public research university and with its 15 faculties, 30 research centres, 120 study programmes and more than 45000 students, it is a leading research and development centre. It is the fifth largest university in Germany. The university's research focuses on the humanities, social sciences, and natural sciences – the main research areas are cell dynamics and imaging, religion and politics, mathematics, battery research, nanoscience, evolution and nervous systems.

About Ulysseus

Ulysseus is one of the 44 European Universities selected by the European Commission to become the universities of the future. Led by the University of Seville together with five other universities in Europe (the University of Genoa, Italy; Université Côte d’Azur, France; the Technical University of Košice, Slovakia; MCI | The Entrepreneurial School®, Austria and Haaga-Helia University of Applied Sciences, Finland), the project will allow students, researchers and graduates to move freely between universities, carry out internships in companies and start high-impact research projects.
