Technical University in Košice awarded Rudolf Schuster for his lifetime achievement

The Technical University of Košice (TUKE) had the honour to welcome a valued guest, President Rudolf Schuster, a former President of the Slovak Republic and a prominent public representative, who visited the university to celebrate his jubilee on October 3, 2024.

In a celebratory atmosphere, Rudolf Schuster was awarded the Lifetime Achievement Award of the Technical University of Košice which was delivered to him in the presence of the Rector, Prof. Ing. Petr Mésároš, PhD., vice-rectors, chairman of the Academic Senate of TUKE, bursar and deans of individual faculties. Such a symbolic act was an expression of deep respect and appreciation not only for his lifelong commitment and work for the benefit of society, but also for his contribution to the development of Europe, the Slovak Republic, the Košice Region, the city of Košice and the Technical University of Košice as well.

Throughout his career, Rudolf Schuster has played a key role in many significant processes that have shaped the character of our country and region. His efforts have been focused on the support of education, culture and the development of infrastructure, all of which have contributed to the improvement of the quality of life not only for the inhabitants of Košice but also for the whole Slovakia. As a personality, Rudolf Schuster is perceived as a man with a huge heart and vision, whose work has left a significant legacy for future generations.

The award that was given to Rudolf Schuster is a gesture of gratitude and appreciation for all that he has done for our university, our city and our country. The ceremony also provided an opportunity to recall important values that the Technical University of Košice respects and supports - values such as dedication, excellence, public service and responsibility for the future.
