Prime Minister Ľudovít Ódor visited TUKE
On 20 June 2023 we welcomed important guests – the Prime Minister of the Slovak Republic Ľudovít Ódor and his team at the Technical University of Košice in the premises of the University Science Park TECHNICOM.
During the visit, the guests met representatives of the management of TUKE and UVP TECHNICOM and had the opportunity to get acquainted not only with the entire ecosystem of technology transfer and innovation at TUKE, but also discussed the problems of the so‑called brain drain.
“The people I have met are very aware that this is really about the future of Slovakia and they are trying to do quite a lot about it. That is, this university cooperates intensively with foreign countries, it has foreign students and a startup community here. I have had very pleasant talks on this topic and I hope that the government will also succeed in this short time to support such initiatives, because we urgently need to talk about the future of Slovakia, not only about what is not working, but also how it could work in the future,” said the Prime Minister.
“I am very pleased that the Prime Minister has visited our institution. It is also a certain expression of the confidence he has shown in us. Of course, we are permanently dealing with the brain drain, we are aware of our possibilities and we are doing everything we can to make the environment more attractive, as evidenced by this building of the University Science Park TECHNICOM, and the environment we offer for young people, startups, incubators and so on.” Stanislav Kmeť, Rector of the Technical University, said during the meeting.
