Almost 600 participants took an active part in the Week of Sport at the Technical University of Košice in the winter semester, which was held on the occasion of the November events and the 100th anniversary of academic sport in Slovakia. The event was opened by Ing. Marcel Behún, PhD., Bursar of TUKE, and PaedDr. Vladimír Harčarik, Head of the Department of Physical Education. A wide range of sport disciplines was represented at the event: climbing on an artificial wall, table tennis, volleyball, swimming on 100m track, badminton, futsal tournament for the TUKE Rector´s Cup, group exercises, streetball, and cycling and hiking event. During this week, we organised the Finals of Slovak Universities 2019 in floorbal, in which our students were placed second. We believe that this form of mass university sporting events will become a popular sporting tradition at our university and appeal to an increasing number of sportsmen, both students and employees of the university.

We look forward to the Christmas Football Tournament, which will take place on 10 December 2019.
