The decision of the Slovak Accreditation Agency for Higher Education (SAAVŠ) that the internal quality system of the Technical University of Košice (TUKE) and its implementation follows the SAAVŠ standards came into effect on June 27, 2024, thus TUKE has reached a significant milestone in its history. Accreditation is an official recognition of the quality of the educational process and the institution as a whole. The accreditation process involved a thorough evaluation of various aspects of the university, including the quality of teaching, qualifications of lecturers, research activities, infrastructure and services provided to students.

The process of aligning the study programmes also included the creation of the University's internal evaluation report, based on which TUKE was assessed in 2023 by an independent working group of SAAVS experts. The assessors made a personal visit to the university, met with the management, teachers and students, and examined various aspects of the university's functioning.

Based on the decision of SAAVŠ, TUKE is entitled to form, implement and modify study programmes
a) in the study field of Architecture and Urban Planning at the 1st and 2nd levels of higher education,
b) in the study field of Transport in the 1st, 2nd and 3rd levels of higher education,
c) in the study field of Economics and Management in the 1st, 2nd and 3rd levels of higher education,
d) in the study field of Electrical Engineering in the 1st, 2nd and 3rd levels of higher education,
e) in the study field of Geodesy and Cartography in the 1st and 2nd levels of higher education,
f) in the study field of Informatics in the 1st, 2nd and 3rd levels of higher education,
g) in the study field of Cybernetics in the 1st, 2nd and 3rd levels of higher education,
h) in the study field of Civil Engineering in the 1st, 2nd and 3rd levels of higher education,
i) in the study field of Mechanical Engineering in the 1st, 2nd and 3rd levels of higher education,
j) in the study field of Arts in the 1st, 2nd and 3rd levels of higher education,
k) in the study field of Earth Resources Extraction and Processing in the 1st, 2nd and 3rd levels of higher education.

We believe that the positive attitude of SAAVŠ to our internal quality system will strengthen our position not only within Slovakia, but also at the international level. The University intends to continue its development and plans to implement further innovations in the educational process and research activities.
