The University of the Third Age
The U3A in Košice is a leisure-based educational institution in accordance with the concept of lifelong learning in the Slovak Republic, following on from the UNESCO gerontological programme. Its mission is to make contemporary knowledge in selected fields accessible in an appropriate way, thereby enabling citizens who, for various reasons, cannot be involved in the active everyday working process to participate in the development of society, education, science and technology.

Study Method
- The study is conducted through lectures, typically every other Friday from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM.
- It is a 6-semester program, with 7 lectures per semester.
- The study ends with a test.
- The first year is common for all study programs.
- After completing the first year, students enroll in a specific study program.
- The entire study ends with a ceremonial graduation.
- The study is interest-based and does not increase professional qualifications.
