On 22 April 2021, 27 new university professors collected the appointment decrees in the fields of habilitation procedure and appointment procedure (HP and AP) from the hands of Zuzana Čaputová, the President of the Slovak Republic. Among the newly appointed professors were also members of the academic community of the Technical University of Košice.

In January 2021, the second satellite constructed in Slovakia, GRBAlpha, started its journey, the goal of which is the Earth's orbit. Its first stage was the air transfer to Moscow where it was picked up by the company GK Launch Services, which provides the launch of the satellite into space.
