Based on the call of Rector of TUKE for the submission of applications for a research grants for young researchers and full-time PhD students up to 30 years for the year 2021, 26 grant applications were delivered to the Division of Science, Research and Doctoral Study within the set deadline. Due to non-compliance with the formal requirements, seven applications were excluded from the evaluation/assessment. The Committee for Science and Research at TUKE responsibly assessed all TUKE research grant applications, and selected the following eight projects to be funded within this call for the project period 1 January 2021 – 31 December 2021:

  • 01/TUKE/2021: Study of hydration processes and selected properties of cement composites by physical, physico-chemical and electroanalytical methods in relation to their sustainability, PI: Mgr. Ing. Róbert Figmig, Faculty of Civil Engineering TUKE
  • 02/TUKE/2021: Complex heat and water transfer in building structures of historical buildings, PI: Ing. Pavol Jaroš, Faculty of Civil Engineering TUKE
  • 03/TUKE/2021: Research of solidifying backfill waste-based materials for mineral extraction, PI: Ing. Martin Konček, Faculty of Mining, Ecology, Process Control and Geotechnologies TUKE
  • 04/TUKE/2021: Design of technical equipment for small-area antibacterial and antiviral decontamination of cargo and luggage area surfaces in air transport, PI: Ing. Branislav Rácek, Faculty of Aeronautics TUKE
  • 05/TUKE/2021: Research of the influence and properties of phenomena with slow dynamics of fluid muscles on the accuracy of their modelling, PI: Ing. Monika Trojanová, PhD., Faculty of Manufacturing Technologies TUKE, based in Prešov
  • 06/TUKE/2021: Testing of innovative technologies – digitization, PI: Ing. Vladimír Šabík, Faculty of Materials, Metallurgy and Recycling TUKE
  • 07/TUKE/2021: Power multiport converter with active bridges for use in electric and hybrid vehicles, PI: Ing. Adrián Marcinek, Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Informatics TUKE
  • 08/TUKE/2021: Improving the parameters of indoor environment by adapting a green wall to the classroom space, PI: Ing. Mária Šugareková, Faculty of Civil Engineering TUKE
