St. Gorazd Prize awarded to a TUKE student

University Highlights

Samuel Andrejčík who studies at the Technical University in Košice won the St. Gorazd Prize, awarded by the Minister of Education, Science, Research and Sport of the Slovak Republic. The award is given on the occasion of the International Student's Day and the winner from TUKE was selected from among the nominated university students.

The nomination was justified by the fact that Ing. Samuel Andrejčík, a third-level student at the Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Informatics at TUKE, represented Slovakia at the Paralympic Games in Tokyo in 2021 in boccia in the BC4 category. Samuel Andrejčík won two gold medals in the BC4 individual category and the BC4 pairs category at the Tokyo 2020 Paralympic Games. He holds a total of four Paralympic medals, including three gold and one silver medal (Tokyo 2020 – 2 gold medals, Rio 2016 – 1 gold and 1 silver medal).
