On 22 April 2021, 27 new university professors collected the appointment decrees in the fields of habilitation procedure and appointment procedure (HP and AP) from the hands of Zuzana Čaputová, the President of the Slovak Republic. Among the newly appointed professors were also members of the academic community of the Technical University of Košice:

• prof. Ing. Silvia Vilčeková, PhD., from the Faculty of Civil Engineering TUKE appointed in the HP and AP field „Architectural Engineering”,
• prof. Ing. Robert Grega, PhD., from the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering TUKE appointed in the HP and AP field “Machine Parts and Mechanisms“,
• prof. Ing. Dušan Kudelas, PhD., from the Faculty of Mining, Ecology, Process Control and Geotechnologies TUKE appointed in the HP and AP field “Acquisition and Processing of Earth Resources”,
• prof. Ing. Jozef Kuľka, PhD., from the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering TUKE appointed in the HP and AP field “Transport Machinery and Equipment” at Slovak University of Technology in Bratislava.

During her speech, the President asked the newly appointed professors not to consider their achievement today as the completion of their academic career, but as its new and even more significant beginning.

„Thanks to your education, scientific skills, creativity and experience, you can educate, refine, and inspire our young university generation to take responsibility for the successful development of our country in the coming time.“
