Results of the TUKE RECTOR'S AWARD 2021

University Highlights

During the Science and Technology Week in Slovakia, a committee composed of external members and members from TUKE responsibly assessed all submitted proposals for the award and decided on the results of the competition as follows:

1. Rector's Award "TUKE Scientist for 2021"
The award was given to prof. Ing. Tomáš Brestovič, PhD., from Faculty of Mechanical Engineering, for his research, development and implementation of unique hydrogen technologies in practice.

2. Rector's Award "TUKE Scientist under 35 for 2021"
The award was given to Ing. Jozef Švajlenka, PhD., MBA, ING.PAED.IGIP, from Faculty of Civil Engineering, for his research and innovation activities focused on the experimental development of new material solutions for energy-efficient and sustainable wooden structures.

3. Rector's Award for publishing activities in the category "Scientific Monograph in Technical Sciences" issued in 2021
The Commission did not give the award in this category.

4.Rector's Award for publishing activities in the category "Scientific Article" published in 2021
The award was given to an article entitled: A snake robot for locomotion in a pipe using trapezium­‑like travelling wave

Stanislav Kmeť, DrSc., and the Vice-Rector for Science, Research and Doctoral Study prof. Ing. Ivo Petráš, DrSc.
