Results of the 6th Round of Innovative Ideas Competition at the TUKE Startup Center
(Košice, 7. november 2017) On November 7 2017 Technical University in Košice (TUKE) in collaboration with the main partner of the competition, Slovak Business Agency (SBA), organized the final of round 6 of competition of innovative ideas.
On November 7, on the premises of newly-opened University scientific park TECHNICOM (UVP TECHNICOM) in Košice the final of round 6 of the competition “Have an idea? Present your startup!” was held. The competing startups had an opportunity to win an entry into the TUKE Startup Center, part of which is a 6-month acceleration program to support the development of innovative ideas.
12 innovative projects out of 25 entered advanced to the final. From those, the jury chose 9 for a pre-incubation stay in the TUKE Startup Center – Runout, project Polymer as hardening medium, Financial education for the young, Mineworld, Let´s Pay, Innovative Construction, Leaf. – Lab for evaluating & Analyzing features, Online medical office, and Adapter PRO-OPT one.
Advancing startups were chosen by an expert commiittee led by its chairman, prorector for innovation and transfer of technologies TUKE, Prof. Ing. A. Čižmár, CSc. The members of the committee were the representatives of investors, private and public sector – Slavomír Hruška (Investeers, a.s.), Miroslava Micová (Slovak Business Agency), Jozef Vojtko (FPT Slovakia), Miroslav Kubiš (CVTI), Michal Hladký (Creative Industry Košice) and TUKE representatives - František Jakab, Anton Lavrin, Marcel Behún, Martin Chovanec a Marek Blizco.
The competition “Have an idea? Present your startup!” is being announced twice a year by the rector of Technical University Prof. Ing. Stanislav Kmeť, CSc. The organizer is the University Center for Innovations, Transfer of technologies and Protection of Intellectual Property (UCITT). The main partners of the competition are Slovak Business Agency (SBA) and Saab AB.
