TUKE Rector’s Award 2020

University Highlights

During the Science and Technology Week in Slovakia, a committee composed mainly of external members responsibly assessed all submitted proposals for the award and decided on the results of the competition as follows:

1. Rector‘s Award “TUKE Scientist for 2020”
The award has been given to prof. RNDr. Jozef Džurina, CSc., from FEI, for his exceptional long-term contribution in the field of qualitative theory of differential equations and their applications substantiated by a high number of citations.

2. Rector’s Award “TUKE Scientist under 35 for 2020”
The award was given to Ing. Marián Holub, PhD., from SvF, for his excellent scientific research, expert and publishing activities in the field of material and environmental engineering in construction.

3. Rector’s Award for publishing activities in the category “Scientific Monography in Technical Sciences” issued in 2020
The awarded monography is: Biomass and Carbon Fuels in Metallurgy

4. Rector’s Award for publishing activities in the category “Scientific Article” published in 2020
The award has been given for the article entitled: Blockchain-Empowered Framework for Decentralized Network Management in 6G
Authors: doc. Ing. Juraj Gazda, PhD., from FEI, et al.

journal: IEEE Communications Magazine, (IF 11,1), in the WOS edition Telecommunications in included in Q1 and position 4/90.

We congratulate the winners and wish them a lot of success, not only in the field of science. The awards will be presented to the winners in the presence of Rector, Dr. h. c. prof. h. c. prof. Ing. Stanislav Kmeť, DrSc., and Vice-Rector for Science, Research and Doctoral Study, prof. Ing. Ivo Petráš, DrSc.
