The Technical University of Košice, together with Pavol Jozef Šafárik University in Košice and University of Veterinary Medicine and Pharmacy in Košice, participated in a meeting with representatives of Montanuniversität Leoben, FH Joanneum University of Applied Sciences and research institution Joanneum Research from the Austrian federal state of Styria. The working sessions, which were held on October 3 and October 4, 2018 in Graz, were organized at the initiative of the Embassy of the Slovak Republic in Vienna and were aimed at intensifying the research and educational cooperation among the abovementioned education and research institutions from both regions. Our university was represented by Vice-Rectors prof. Ing. Vladimír Modrák, CSc. and prof. Ing. Ervin Lumnitzer, PhD. A joint Memorandum of Cooperation between the involved universities was signed during the meeting. All parties of the memorandum set themselves the objective to develop the cooperation mainly in the areas of joint research projects, mobility of teachers and students, and creation of joint study programmes. The signing of the memorandum was attended by representatives of the Embassy of the Slovak Republic in Vienna and by Barbara Eibinger-Miedl, the State Minister of the Styrian Government for Economy, Tourism, Europe, Science and Research.
