The International Education Fair PRO EDUCO, which took place for the eleventh time on November 29 – 30, 2017, belongs to major events of its kind in Slovakia. It is, however, unique in its concept, where in one place the programmes for high school, undergraduate, postgraduate and out-of-school education are presented.

The Technical University of Kosice was the general partner of the event and within its exposition several exhibits and demonstrations of practical examples of creative work of students were presented to the applicants. The programme also included a virtual tour of the university campus, game console, Radio 9, unusual photo shoot and reporting of the Student Television. Another pleasant surprise was university popcorn, which filled the fairground with a nice smell.

A part of the opening ceremony was the award ceremony EDUCO AWARDS 2017. Awards were given to students in several age categories from elementary school students to doctoral students who made good use of their talents in their own start-up projects. The award for TUKE was received by Ing. Ján Bačík, PhD. and Ing. Milan Biroš for the Pathfinder project. The project outcome is an autonomous mobile robot designed to assist in medical centres. This is the first application of robotic mobile technology in a hospital environment in the European area, which is currently a model example of the transfer of research outcomes into practice.

One of the attractions was the robot NAO who demonstrated to visitors what they can experience if they decide to study at one of nine TUKE faculties.
