Guidelines for the application of identity cards issued by TUKE in DPMK
Identity cards issued by the Technical University of Košice are also accepted as multifunctional cards by Dopravný podnik mesta Košice, a.s. /The Transport Company of Košice/ (hereinafter referred to as “DPMK”).
The categories of the cards are:
- employee cards,
- student cards,
- other university cards.
Employee cards
The visual design of the internal employee cards and international ITIC cards issued by the Technical University is shown in the following picture:

Faculties are distinguished by different colour stripes:

The holder of the card has to do the following for the DPMK application:
Step 1
The holder personalises the card. This is done in two DPMK sales points:

DPMK, a.s. at Bardejovská 6 (Terasa),

DPMK, a.s. at Rooseveltova 3 (near DoubleTree by Hilton hotel).
To personalise the card, it is necessary to bring your ID. The DPMK employee will record the transport information on the card chip. This operation is performed only once.
Step 2
“Charging” of the card, i.e. the purchase of the fare according to the valid fare prices. This operation can be done repeatedly at the DPMK sales points:http://dpmk.sk/kontakty/predajne-miesta
Student cards – full-time and part time form of study
There are two types of student card: international ISIC cards for the full-time students and student cards for the part-time students. The validity of the ISIC cards is prolonged by the ISIC validity stamp and the validity of the student cards of part-time students is prolonged by an internal validity stamp of the university.

Use of the student card in the DPMK – the student will receive an already personalised card and therefore it is possible to immediately “charge the card”, i.e. to purchase the fare according to the valid fare prices. Student cards of the part-time students will be acceptable by the DMPK similarly to the employee cards – without discount.
Other university cards

3. Other university card
For DMPK application of the card, the card holder has to perform the same procedure as the holder of the employee card. Pensioners’ entitlement for transport discount has to be proven by the pension statement.
