On 13-17 May 2019, the delegation of the Faculty of Mining, Ecology, Process Control and Geotechnologies (FBERG) led by the Dean prof. Ing. Michal Cehlár, PhD., the Vice-dean prof. Ing. Juraj Janočko, PhD., and the head of one of the departments, doc. Ing. Marian Šofranko, PhD., participated in the international conference TOPICAL ISSUES OF RATIONAL USE OF NATURAL RESOURCES in St. Petersburg at the Mining University under the auspices of UNESCO. 30 countries, 85 universities and 420 participants took part in the international conference and included 340 competing presentations.
The results of research conducted at FBERG were presented by full-time PhD students, Ing. Ján Fehér and Ing. Jozef Čambál, in the section Geotechnologies of resource extraction: current challenges and prospects on the topic “Minimizing seismic impacts on the environment in blasting”. Their presentation has brought exceptional international success, both to the researchers and the faculty, in the form of the 2nd place.
