A project called MiniErasmus was implemented at the Technical University of Košice at a university level for the third time. Within the project, we welcomed secondary school students from different parts of Slovakia (Bardejov, Bratislava, Medzilaborce, Nitra, Prešov, Trebišov, etc.) at our university.

Over the course of four days, 36 MiniErasmus students tried out what it is like to be a university student and were given the opportunity to attend lectures and tutorials at four of our university faculties (Faculty of Civil Engineering, Faculty of Economics, Faculty of Arts, and Faculty of Aeronautics) with regular university students. The project took place on 18-20 November 2019 and was organised in co-operation with the Future Generation Europe organisation. MiniErasmus is a project which aims to give secondary school students an answer to the question: “Can you imagine yourself living the next few years of your life like this?”.
From Monday to Wednesday, students studied in the morning, and in the afternoon, they engaged in leisure activities, which included interesting lectures and workshops.

The largest group of MiniErasmus students attended lectures and tutorials at five departments of the Faculty of Aeronautics. They were given an opportunity to speak with teachers and students of the faculty; they got acquainted with the study system at the faculty as well as content of study programmes, which will help them in choosing the next course after finishing secondary school. They also took a tour of the laboratories and simulators of the Faculty of Aeronautics.

At the Faculty of Economics, students attended seminars on Macroeconomics, Banking, Enterprise and Entrepreneurship, Management of Banking Operations, and Accounting of Financial Institutions. Students finished the last school day with the Dean of the Faculty - they took part in a little quiz, and received token gifts from the faculty.

At the Faculty of Civil Engineering, MiniErasmus students attended lectures and tutorials in the field of architectural engineering, technology of building processes, metal structures and environmental engineering. Teachers also demonstrated the work in the laboratory of building materials. MiniErasmus students also met with students from Poland, who were at the Faculty within the Erasmus+ programme.

The Faculty of Arts presented its ateliers and studios to the MiniErasmus students, and provided them with information about study programmes and their differences, as well as information about the entrance exams in the form of talent tests. Students also participated in an active course, during which they also had an opportunity to draw.
